Principle of Operation The primary windings of both the transmitter and receiver selsyns are fed through a common A.C. Supply. The secondary windings are interconnected. When the primaries are energised, the induced voltages in the secondary winding from a common electrical circuit and current is circulated. This current creates synchronising torque so that rotor of the receiver chases that of the transmitter and locks with it at all speeds and position. Thus the receiver will continuously monitor the position and speed of the equipment to which the transmitter is coupled. Construction Selsyn is essentially an electrical repeating device having same working principle and construction as that of a slipring induction motor. However, it performs an entirely different function i.e. speed/position monitoring, length counting by operating as an electrically interconnected pair designated as transmitter and receiver. Salient Features
Precision engineered to achieve perfect synchronisation between transmitter and receiver rotors. Rotors dynamically balanced to provide smooth vibration free operation. Sealed, low friction, precision ball bearing used to minimise synchronising errors and to provide near perfect response. Specially designed slipring and brush combination for excellent low resistance contact even after prolonged idle period to ensure trouble free performance in harsh industrial environment. The devices capable of continuous operation in high ambient temperature and humidity even in poorly ventilated areas. Models equivalent to reputed overseas makes in terms of performance, electrical parameters and mechanical mounting dimension.
Application Remote Position Indication of field mounted equipment such as Hydraulic Gates (Spill – way / Penstroke etc.) Marine Propellers, Waters / Steam / Oil Valves, Lifts, Hoists, Furnaces, and similar mechanisms. Length Counting for Rod and Strip Rolling Mills, Paper / Cloth Rolls etc.
